Backhoe & Excavation Specialist

Role Overview: LMN Transport is seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to lead our excavation and site-clearing operations. This role is essential to our demolition services, requiring a professional who can operate a backhoe with precision to clear sites, load trailers, and prepare land for the next phase of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Precision Operation: Efficiently operate a backhoe for excavation, trenching, grading, and material movement with high accuracy.

  • Demolition & Loading: Assist in the breakdown of structures and manage the efficient loading of debris into demolition trailers and end dumps.

  • Site Preparation: Execute brush clearing, debris removal, and land leveling to meet project specifications.

  • Equipment Care: Perform daily pre-operation inspections, including greasing pins, checking hydraulic levels, and monitoring for wear to ensure zero downtime.

  • Site Safety: Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols on active job sites, ensuring the safety of bystanders, ground crews, and other equipment.

  • Project Coordination: Work closely with our CDL drivers to streamline the loading and hauling process.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of verifiable experience operating a backhoe or similar heavy machinery in a construction or demolition setting.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of hydraulic systems and equipment mechanics.

  • Reliability: Strong work ethic with a track record of punctuality and dependability.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks associated with site prep.

  • Transportation: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to reach various job sites.
