Diesel Mechanic / Shop Hand
On-Site Shop
Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our 11-unit fleet, including tractors, dump trailers (Belly/End), and heavy machinery. You will be responsible for ensuring our equipment is safe, compliant, and ready for the rigors of construction and demolition sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication on Class 8 trucks and heavy equipment.

System Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and repair air brake systems, hydraulics (specifically for dump trailers), and electrical systems.

Tire & Brake Management: Conduct regular inspections and replacements of tires and brake components to ensure DOT compliance.

Heavy Equipment Repair: Maintain and service our backhoe and flatbed trailers to minimize downtime.

Shop Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all repairs and parts inventory (reporting directly to the Office Administrator).

Safety Compliance: Ensure all vehicles meet Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards before hitting the road.
Requirements:

Proven experience working with heavy-duty diesel engines and hydraulic systems.

Basic welding and fabrication skills (a plus for trailer repairs).

Ability to work independently and maintain a clean, organized shop environment.
